How I would love to live in the days where respect, love of country and freedom rang out. I know that life wasn't perfect back then, but most people had respect for each other and a respect for life that you just don't find these days.
Back in the day there weren't stupid lawsuits like we have today. You know the kind I'm talking about: Where your neighbor sues you because he is offended by your American flag flying on the 4th of July. Or parents sue a school because their daughter got sent home for wearing something that showed more skin then a hooker. Or the overweight guy who sued McDonalds for making him fat. Its all craziness.
Back then you could walk down the street without hearing "F*** this" and "F*** that" coming from a car stereo. I don't care if that person listens to that type of music but WHY should I have to hear it?
Simply because there is no respect.
The pants hanging down to the knees that show off the male species boxers. C'mon.. Why do I have to see their darn underwear? Again, because there is no respect.
There wasn't such a thing as being politically incorrect; which is just another stupid rule to make sure people cant speak their own minds or cant say something that might indicate that we are different in some way.. Can you imagine back then, someone might have actually called a mobile home, a "mobile home", instead of a manufactured home? EGads!!! What were they thinking?
Or, my God, teachers actually used RED pen to mark papers. These days that might hurt the kids feelings so we cant use the red pen. The teachers cant give bad grades because it might make the kid have low self esteem. In my day, when I got a bad grade, it made me work harder for a good one.
It didn't give me low self esteem. It gave me the power to try to do better.
People knew we were all different and we had the FREEDOM to be different. If someone was proud of their country or fought for their country they could fly the American flag and no one got their poor little feelings hurt. People could put a Nativity scene in their front yard and it was quite okay. A Christmas tree was a Christmas tree and not a Holiday tree. Why? Because the Christmas tree is a symbol of CHRISTmas which is the time that Christians celebrate Christs birth. So why try to take that away from people?
No, I'm not a Christian. I'm a pagan and you know what? The fact that Christians celebrate Christs birth with a Christmas tree doesn't bother me one bit. I don't see why in the world it should bother anyone.
Way back in the days of Dinosaurs, at least it seems that long ago, we were allowed to say God Bless You. Heaven forbid you should do that today. You might get sued just because a person sneezed.
Lets not forget the government. I wont say much because:
1- This post would be too long
2- Everything I say would be considered politically incorrect and I might get sued by someone who got their feelings hurt because I don't think exactly like they do or like they think I should.
Anyway, do you remember this? "that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom--and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."" HAH!!! It has perished. The government cares about money, money and more money. Screw the people! Shame on them.
I believe lack of respect is what has caused all this lunacy. We will probably never see a time that is respectful like in the past.
Lets bow our heads and weep for what this country has become; for what WE have become.

Moving plus Artwork
Well it looks as though I am going to be pretty busy in the coming weeks. I was told by the bank today that we will have to move out by the second week of March so that means I have to start packing AND finding a place to live.
I probably wont have a lot of time for art or posting to my blog but I will give it my best shot. But just to keep you happy for the moment here is my newest stuff.

Found My Camera
I had lost my camera and it finally decided to peek through a pile of papers and show itself to me. While it was being so friendly I decided to get a few pictures of my newest journal pages and a couple of Little Miss Trouble...

This is a spread about me. How I'm like a flower child who wants nothing but love, peace, beauty and kindness around me.
I found this poem in an old magazine and loved it so much I had to make a spread with it. The poem reminds me so much of me and my hubby. After 15 years of marriage we love each other like newlyweds still.
This is a page for my art journal group. We were supposed to put wings on something that doesn't normally have wings.
I liked the challenge so much I made two pages. This one is all about the power of words. There's that flower child in me coming out again.
